The following are not eloquent words or groundbreaking thoughts, rather a simple encouraging reminder to keep leading and keep believing in yourself.
Despite the encouraging sentiments your grandmother gave you when you were growing up; things will, from time to time, go wrong. Regardless of our implanted safeguards or refined positivity, undesired outcomes will transpire with somewhat of a frequency.
When things go wrong resulting in an unintended outcome - DON'T QUIT! When the road you are navigating seems to be a constant uphill climb; when your finances are not enough and your debt is too much - DON'T QUIT! When you would truly like to smile, but all you can muster is a sigh - DON'T QUIT!
George Shultz once said that success is failure turned inside out and you can never tell how close you are to succeeding. It may be near when it seems afar. The minute you start talking or thinking about what you going to do if you fail or lose, you've already failed or lost.
Basketball coaching legend, Don Meyer stated that "complacency is the forerunner of the mediocrity. you can never work too hard on attitudes, effort and technique." I encourage you to spend time on http://www.coachmeyer.com/ you will be inspired and understand the meaning of - DON'T QUIT! Follow him @coachdonmeyer
It is not easy for me to stay personally positive let alone model positivity for my staff/team. My nature is to be cynical, skeptical and have doubt. Questioning self can be a positive exercise, but it can also create mounting doubt in self and vision. Stay positive and DON'T QUIT!
Never give up believing in yourself, your abilities, your vision or your team/staff. DON'T QUIT!
